Trip Itinerary
More information regarding the time and meeting point for the first/last day will be provided after the booking.
Arrival in Francavilla al Mare, where you will stay for the entire weekend. The sunset tour will take us to Tollo, the town of wine and the Abruzzese pergola. The streets and countryside are bustling with activity, reflecting the commitment of men and women in the grape harvest, with loaded tractors gathering at the gates of the wineries. During the grape harvest season, from September to October, this small Teatino village, with 84% of its territory dedicated to vineyards, reaches its peak of splendor. Thanks to the rediscovery of Abruzzese wines and indigenous grape varieties, Tollo is now known as the City of Wine, featuring its main labels: Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Cerasuolo. Biking through these gentle hills, one can admire the wineries along the route, until reaching the one chosen for the tasting, where you can savor Tollo's typical productions. Free dinner and overnight stay.
After a day of relaxation between the beach and the sea, our sunset bike ride will take us to Crecchio. This town in the province of Chieti is known for its viticulture, wine production, wineries, and primary gastronomic resources. Located at an altitude of 209 meters above sea level, Crecchio has seen local producers seek the best positions for their vineyards to obtain grapes suitable for producing wines that meet the high standards of the Chieti province. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to discover all the information related to the denominations of origin, wines, and local gastronomic products, with particular reference to the municipality of Crecchio: Abruzzo DOC, Cerasuolo DOC, Terre di Chieti IGT, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC, and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC— all denominations that you will taste during the winery stop included in the sunset wine bike tour. Free dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, relax on the beach and then depart to your respective destinations.
