Arrival in L’Aquila and meeting with your guide. The tour begins with a walking visit through the city’s most iconic landmarks: the Basilica of Collemaggio, Basilica of San Bernardino, Fountain of the 99 Spouts, Fountain of Light, and the Spanish Fortress. This itinerary reveals the history, art, and rebirth of a truly remarkable city.
In the afternoon, take part in one of the official events of the “L’Aquila Città Multiverso” cultural program, celebrating creativity and contemporary art. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer by minivan to Santo Stefano di Sessanio, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. From here, follow a panoramic trail through the mountains leading to Rocca Calascio, one of the highest and most iconic fortresses in the Apennines.
Along the route, admire the scenic Church of Santa Maria della Pietà, located at over 1,500 meters above sea level. Descend toward the ancient village of Calascio before looping back to Santo Stefano to visit its charming historic center, medieval tower, and the Medici arch.
In the afternoon, return to L’Aquila to attend cultural events and performances as part of the Italian Capital of Culture program. Dinner and overnight stay.

Transfer to Campo Imperatore, known as the “Little Tibet of Italy.” Begin your scenic hike along a gentle trail leading to Vado di Corno, in the heart of the Gran Sasso massif. Surrounded by vast meadows and sweeping mountain views, this route offers breathtaking landscapes and a deep sense of tranquility.
On the way back, stop at the picturesque Pietranzoni Lake, where the Corno Grande peak reflects perfectly in the water—an ideal spot for photography. Return to L’Aquila via Assergi and enjoy an afternoon filled with events and performances linked to L’Aquila Italian Capital of Culture. Dinner and overnight stay.

The final day is dedicated to an unforgettable hike through the meadows of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. Starting from Rifugio Racollo, follow the trail across the wide karst plateau of Campo Imperatore toward the stunning Scoppaturo Canyon, a natural gem carved by water over centuries.
This fascinating landscape, with its towering rock walls and unique shapes, has served as the backdrop for several famous films, including “They Call Me Trinity.” A hike rich in natural beauty and cinematic history, it’s the perfect way to conclude your journey through Abruzzo’s culture and nature.
Return to L’Aquila in the afternoon and depart.
