Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon with your own means of transport. The evening is free to explore the area, followed by an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, departure with e-bikes for an adventure through the history of Marsica. After a mixed urban route, we will reach the Aia dei Musei, where we will admire the artifacts related to the drainage of Lake Fucino. Next, we will head towards the Cunicoli di Claudio, the first attempt at draining the lake, recently restored and opened to the public. If possible, we will also visit the entrance to the emissary built by Prince Torlonia, which completed the lake’s drainage. After lunch in Avezzano, return to the accommodation. The evening is free, followed by an overnight stay.

The day begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, after which we will take the minibus to Pescina, the birthplace of Ignazio Silone, where we will pick up our e-bikes. From there, we will start our route toward Aielli, a small village known for its extraordinary murals. Those who wish can explore these fascinating artworks with a guided tour (optional service available upon request). After the visit, we will return to Pescina, passing through the Cerchio wind farm. For lunch, we will stop at Pizzeria Trattoria Balù 2.0, where we will enjoy a typical dish, before continuing with a visit to the Piccolomini Tower and the Ignazio Silone Museum House. At the end, we will take the minibus to return to the hotel.
During July and August, the Friday excursion will be dedicated to the Valle di Amplero in Collelongo, with a visit to the Lavandeto and the Civic Museum. Here too, those who wish can take part in a guided tour (optional service available upon request).

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will set off on our e-bikes for an exciting excursion. The route, a mix of dirt paths and paved roads, will take us to the ancient archaeological site of Alba Fucens. Those who wish can explore the ruins of the ancient city, the evocative Church of San Pietro, and the historic village accompanied by an expert guide (optional service available upon request). After a short coffee break, we will get back on our e-bikes to reach Rosciolo dei Marsi, cycling along a flat section with a gentle ascent to the village center. Here, we will stop for a traditional lunch at Taverna Velino, where we can savor local specialties. In the afternoon, the route will lead us to the beautiful Church of Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta, a masterpiece of medieval architecture surrounded by nature, which we will visit with a tour guide. At the end of the excursion, we will return to the hotel. The day will conclude with a special dinner, attended by the tour organizers for a final farewell. Overnight stay.

The tour unfolds through three main excursions that will lead you to the discovery of some of the region’s most iconic sites: the Cunicoli di Claudio, an extraordinary testament to Roman hydraulic engineering; the village of Aielli, transformed into an open-air museum thanks to its famous murals; and Alba Fucens, an ancient archaeological site nestled between the mountains. During the summer months, the tour includes an exploration of the Valle di Amplero, with its necropolises, unspoiled nature, and fields of lavender. Each day is enriched by guided tours with local experts from Marsica Bike Tour, who will lead you through the history and traditions of the area. The tour concludes on Sunday morning, after breakfast, with the option of an additional, optional excursion to the Castle of Celano and its panoramic terrace, from which you can admire the entire Fucino plain.
The routes are designed to be accessible, but they do include some short sections that require a bit of effort. While the pace remains suitable for everyone, the experience should be considered easy to intermediate, with the option to walk any segment at a relaxed pace if needed. E-bikes make every ride enjoyable, enhancing both the landscape and the overall experience of discovery.
Accommodation is provided in Avezzano, in a welcoming and comfortable hotel. For those arriving by train, the hotel may not be easily accessible, so the use of a private vehicle is recommended to facilitate local travel.
