Trip Itinerary
More information regarding the time and meeting point for the first/last day will be provided after the booking.
Individual arrival at the hotel in Alta Pusteria and check-in. Free time to explore the area or relax. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.
The day begins at the stunning Lake Braies, renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by dense conifer forests and towering pale rock faces that define the valley. The trail offers captivating views of the surrounding peaks, including Cristallo, the Tofane, and the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo. You’ll continue toward the alpine pasture of Rossalm, eventually reaching the Prato Piazza plateau, a serene open expanse perfect for unwinding amidst nature. For those seeking a shorter route ( +790 m/- 0 m, ca. 4-5 ore), a transfer is available to Tuscherhof Hotel. From there, the trail follows the Stolla Stream, passing Ponticello, the Hut, and the unique rock carvings, natural patterns shaped by water erosion. Free dinner and overnight stay.
Today's stage starts from the enchanting Prato Piazza plateau, which, together with Croda Rossa and the Kreuzkofel group, forms one of the most treasured hiking areas in the region. The unique flora and the beauty of the natural lakes will captivate even the most experienced hikers. This area still retains the magical atmosphere of the legends passed down from the ancient tribes that once inhabited the Fanes mountains. From Prato Piazza, located within the vast Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, you can choose between two route options: the shorter (+/- 360 m, ca. 3 - 4 ore) one leads to Mount Specie, while the longer one takes you to Vallandro Peak. In both cases, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Croda Rossa, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Tofane, and Mount Cristallo. Free dinner and overnight stay.
Today's route begins with a descent from the Prato Piazza plateau through the scenic Valle dei Canopi, reaching Cimabanche, located at the border between South Tyrol and Veneto. Here, you will have two options: the first is to take public transportation directly to Cortina d’Ampezzo, while the second, longer option (+ 650 m / - 840 m, ca. 5,5 - 6 ore) which will take you to Ospitale and Passo Tre Croci. There is the option to shorten the route by taking the Son Forca cable car (not included). You will reach Cortina d’Ampezzo, known as the "Pearl of the Dolomites," a town nestled in the heart of the most famous mountains in the region, offering spectacular views and a unique atmosphere. Free dinner and overnight stay.
The view from the starting point of this stage is truly remarkable: the majestic rocks of the Ampezzo Dolomites seem to touch the sky! Monte Cristallo, the Tofane, and the Fanes group are the incredible highlights of this spectacle, which never tires and always offers a new perspective around every corner. Today, you can again choose between two route options: the longer route will take you towards Forcella Faloria, while the shorter route follows the Dolomieu Panoramic Trail (+100 m/-990 m, approx. 3–4 hours). Both routes pass through Passo Tre Croci, and the descent to the Olympic town of Cortina is the same for both alternatives. If you prefer not to take the cable car, you can enjoy a circular hike to the Cinque Torri (+570 m / -350 m, approx. 3.5–4 hours). Dinner is on your own, and overnight stay.
In the morning, take the public bus to the Tre Cime panoramic point. From there, walk through the Rienzböden and the Rienztal Valley to reach the Tre Cime, an iconic symbol of the Dolomites and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hike continues to the famous Dreizinnenhütte mountain hut. From there, the route leads to the base of Paternkofel, which was the site of battles during World War I (where the legendary mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler lost his life), in the Val Fiscalina. From Val Fiscalina, take the bus to Dobbiaco. For those less fit, there is the option to take the bus directly to Rifugio Auronzo and from there complete a circular hike around the famous Tre Cime (+350 m / -350 m, approx. 3–4 hours), before returning by bus from Rifugio Auronzo to Dobbiaco (tickets not included). Dinner is on your own, followed by overnight stay.
Individual departure from Dobbiaco or Villabassa, end of services. Option to extend your stay.
