More information regarding the time and meeting point for the first/last day will be provided after the booking.
The first day of trekking begins from the center of Mattinata, where we will start exploring the Gargano National Park. We will cross landscapes that range from terraced fields to centuries-old olive groves, passing through low Mediterranean scrub and oak forests, until we reach the ancient Abbey of Monte Sacro. At the end of the day, we will be welcomed by a typical accommodation where we can enjoy a dinner and an overnight stay after a day of hiking.

After breakfast, we will begin our hike into the heart of the Gargano National Park. We will venture into the Foresta Umbra, one of the most fascinating and pristine areas of the promontory, where ancient beeches and shaded trails provide a unique setting. The trekking day will end at an old forest barracks, where a typical dinner will be served to conclude the day in the best way. Overnight stay at the accommodation.

The final day of the trek begins with breakfast and takes us along a long scenic route towards the Adriatic coast, with stunning views of the sea. We will finally reach the picturesque village of Peschici, where our journey ends. After reaching the final destination, a transfer will take us back to Mattinata, where our adventure concludes. From there, the route winds its way to Peschici, one of the most picturesque towns in the Gargano, famous for its whitewashed houses clinging to the hillside and narrow cobbled streets, offering spectacular sea views. Along the way, you will cross Monte Sacro, a mountain rich in history and spirituality, before continuing through the Foresta Umbra, one of Italy’s most important woodland areas. This natural paradise is home to centuries-old trees, shaded trails, and a profound sense of tranquility, inviting moments of reflection.

The tour is open to travelers of all ages, but requires good physical preparation. The route, classified as E (hiking), is suitable for those with medium-high endurance. The trek involves long daily hikes and physical challenges, so a good spirit of adaptability is essential. The organization reserves the right to exclude participants who are not fit, based on physical level or equipment (e.g., lack of hiking shoes).
It is recommended to bring 2-3 liters of water, fruit, snacks, and a packed lunch. Hiking or trail shoes are mandatory, as well as technical layered clothing. A raincoat and trekking poles are optional but may be useful for comfort during the journey.
Remember to bring a valid passport or ID card with an expiration date of at least 6 months from the departure date. The itinerary may be subject to changes before and/or during the trip. On a group tour and in certain specific villages, it may be necessary to use dispersed accommodation due to the lack of large facilities. Please inform us of any food intolerances at the time of booking; we will do our best to accommodate them, but we cannot guarantee it. Tourist taxes to be paid locally.
