Travel Tour Overview
Experience a unique adventure with a snowshoe hike through the enchanting Valle Fredda, in the Cinquemiglia plateau, one of Italy’s most fascinating areas. We will follow the ancient Celano–Foggia trail, an important route for seasonal livestock migration, reaching the Tre Fontane spring, a traditional resting point for shepherds. Along the way, we will discover the small rock-hewn church of Madonna del Carmine, with its tower and apse, and continue on trails leading to the Macerete and La Ria shepherds’ huts. The descent will take us to the Imposto pass and Montagna Spaccata, where we will enjoy spectacular views. The route concludes with a forest loop and a visit to the medieval church of Madonna del Casale. This excursion is perfect for those who want to explore the beauty of the mountains in winter, surrounded by history, nature, and the magic of snow.
Easily reachable thanks to the direct shuttle bus service to the slopes. Book your seat on the bus here.
